North Coast Bird and Exotic Specialties is a primary care and referral veterinary practice limited to birds and exotics. Our patients include birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits, rodents, and other exotic mammals. Patients are maintained in separate specially equipped wards to minimize stress, with housing designed to meet their specific needs. Patients are monitored 24 hours a day by experienced veterinarians, registered veterinary technicians and technical support staff.

A host of diagnostic services are available including radiography and in-house laboratory testing, as well as endoscopy, laparoscopy, ultrasonography, fluoroscopy, and even computed tomography (CT scans). We are also able to offer a wide variety of therapeutic services to our exotic patients. In addition to internal medicine and surgery, we are able to address many of the unique problems encountered in exotic species, such as behavior and husbandry counseling. Intravenous fluids can be administered through pumps designed to accurately deliver small doses. Oxygen cages and ultrasonic nebulization therapy can also be provided.

We offer a full range of surgical procedures to benefit your pet. Trauma repair, orthopedic procedures, reproductive emergencies, and diagnostic surgical procedures are but a few of our standard surgical offerings. Traditional surgery, magnified microsurgery, and endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures utilize the most modern equipment to minimize the surgical time, trauma and risk on your pet.

The combination of our training and skills along with the other specialists and services available through Metropolitan Veterinary Referral Groups enables North Coast to provide extraordinary care for extraordinary animals!
